They are the funniest satire available right now. Much closer to the old onion. The religious angle isn't my thing, but it's not overt and not smashed in your face. I subscribed and bought merch. Love the "Fake News You Can Trust" mug.
They started out as a religious site I'm pretty sure. Kind of making fun of pot lucks an things preachers say in a chummy way everyone can laugh about.
Yeah they were a satire Christian news I'm pretty sure. I think they're all Christians but they take the piss out of themselves as much as they do with anyone else. But most of the time they're pretty much spot on, despite it being "satire"
I love when they have religious jokes. Like when the Calinvist opened a bingo hall with pre-destined winners.
I'm curious (not combative) about your statement. You say you think they are the funniest satire site right now (I completely agree), and that you have supported them by both subscribing and purchasing merchandise. So what part of their "religious angle" is bothersome to you? I really don't understand. They frequently poke fun at themselves as Christians and other churchgoers, so I'm not sure what your objection is.

No problem. I didn't say I had an objection. I said it is clear that religion is important to them, but they weren't jerks about it. Basically, I have zero issue with religion, but at the same time I'm not going to join a church just to meet nice people. If I'm going to subscribe and buy merch and get in their orbit then I liked that they had a broader view while also having a grounding that I respect though don't participate in. I probably could have said it better.

I mentioned it because it's a big thing for them, but not me, but I still support what their doing and not because of the religious angle at all. Which for some might be a positive indication they should check it out if they are likewise inclined.
