NC has a large undocumented immigration problem. I thought I read its the 2nd largest state in the U.S. in terms of illegal immigration.
19 out of 100,000 new immigrants/year does not make me hopeful.
NC makes money off illegals... big money. Not NC so much as the 6 location staffing company that each location makes 2 million a year revenue and only lists 1 employee. No education or background check required. The few US citizens I have met that work there say that they quit because they stopped getting paid... they did but their undocumented co-workers still received their pay.
I sound disgruntled but I love the U.S.A. and I have offered to help atleast 3 grown adults get started on their citizenship and was quickly told no. Apparently, its better for their entire family if they don't have papers. Whatever that means. I no longer offer.
