The hallmark of Democracy is the peaceful transition of power. I remember my econ professor saying that elections are war but without bullets. This is 100% true. It is a contest for power.
I fear that if the election is remotely close for either candidate, the losing side will not accept defeat. This leads to scenarios that would be disastrous to the unity of the county. The win must be swift and conclusive to ensure peace (if there's rioting afterward, it will be handled). It doesn't matter if you live in a majority red or blue state, go out and vote. The popular vote doesn't win elections, but it still has a real psychological effect.
Talk to friends, coworkers, or family about these things, even if you don''t always see eye to eye. I have a lot of friends who are super liberal, and with Covid and the way Biden was elevated in the primary, they are definitely questioning things. Let's welcome them warmly and with compassion.
I believe we were all born into this time and place for a reason. And I believe that together we are so much stronger than when divided. I pray that this country returns to a greater sense of unity. And I pray that we are able to find a renewed goal or purpose. Let's do everything we can to ensure this victory.
The best is yet to come.
The hallmark of democracies is crumbling within a hundred and fifty years of instituting universal suffrage. One pulse one vote kills civilizations, because it creates a society that doesn't defend itself from infiltration and subversion. Case in point...
All authority derives from violence. So that's about right.
We aren't united in the first place. On the one hand you have the providence and descendants of the actual American people, and on the other hand you have a socialist cabal of foreigners and un-Americans bent on destroying this nation and enslaving its people.
How can you have "unity" while living next to an existential threat?
That's why a civil war is inevitable. Because our forefathers failed in the "eternal vigilance" thing.
No. To elaborate further, hell no.
These people are insane, delusional witch hunters in desperate need of witches. Might as well tell a KGB agent that you think Marxism doesn't work. Might as well tell a Jacobin that the monarchy isn't that bad. They seek to criminalize disagreement and they do not believe you have any right to live in peace. I'd sooner kiss an actual snake than associate with a liberal. The snake might not bite me. The liberal will.
