I seriously think everyone should consider making up a notecard or sheet of paper with just a sampling of the MOUNTAIN of evidence; links, articles, etc. from doctors and scientists that address this stuff. Make numerous copies and keep several on you at all times. Hand them out when confronted like this.
For instance, in your case Duchess you could point to the specific article that tells us how cloth face masks bar particles 100 microns or larger, but that covid particles are just 1 - 4 microns. So please explain Mr. Shopkeeper, how this mask is going to protect anyone from covid? Seriously. These dummies need to be educated.
