This is exactly why I’m so angry at Greg Abbott. There was a brief window of opportunity for Texas to lead the charge against this bullshit, but Abbott caved and shut down. Then he caved again by a second shutdown. Then he caved again with his statewide mask EO. Weak.

He’s not running again. Rick Perry is one of the only Texas Governors to serve more than two terms. Texas GOP sent a very strong signal by electing Alan West as the chair. Abbott is finished.

This is why I love Brian Kemp, Governor of Georgia. He did cave to pressure from liberal mayors and shut down our state for 3 weeks. After that, he came back strong. Opened it all back up in the face of serious commie mayor opposition. He has declared that mask mandates are unenforceable.

I contend that Texas had the opportunity to lead in NOT shutting down, had we held firm other states including surely GA would have followed suit.

You're probably right. Of course, we have Atlanta, with its commie mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms who believes that she is a monarch, along with our liberal rag of a local paper who exerted tremendous pressure against the Governor so it might have happened anyway.

Texas being by far the biggest red state has a lot of influence nationally. Even we have some commies running our big cities but overall still thankfully red! If we’d held I think other red states would have followed and that would have stalled the push to destroy our economy.

I haven't been to a show in 9 years, hadn't been to a show for several more before that one. I was much more active in the 90s. NYE 1999-2000 in Florida kinda burned me out on the whole thing.

I still listen to the music from time to time, but I have no interest in that crowd anymore.

same, very disappointed. He had the opportunity to just ride it out and let this nonsense end but he caved.
