We've got to keep Chinese investment out of Afghanistan. They've already taken stranglehold over many African economies, putting them back into colonial era economic slavery.
The problem with just letting them take over is the fact that Afghanistan is one of the most rich in rare-earth mineral parts of the world. They already hold an almost global monopoly on these elements, this would secure it.
China policies might be a better fit for them than ours. We are too kind for them. China would Kill the truly radicals, forced labor camps for the moderates, and indoctration for the rest.
It's hard to believe china doesnt know how important roads are to warfare.

Not worth it. With any luck, the Taliban will turn on China, and they'll get to enjoy the quagmire for a change.
