I used to watch all kinds of movies, even with actors and directors I personally didn't like or agreed with. Stories too. I’d put politics aside and ignore all the bullshit. Except ’The Hate You Give’ that movie pissed me off like no other. But 2020 Hollywood and sports have gotten worse with all that. And I'm not sure what to do. I love the MCU as well but many of its stars have gone even more batshit crazy and they'll force more ”diversity” in their films. That is a great way of looking at it though.

From India, growing up Oscar was always a big deal, we anticipated it. Western media and content have always been predominantly White (in the past) and it never bothered us because race was never at the forefront. Because the branding of the Academy Awards makes investors feel secure, this will be the new standard for feature films. Quality will suffer and this will further divide the country. Films are toast. It is the end of an era. TV will be the new medium for visual storytelling and that's that.

I work in film, it’s falling apart. Woke culture has created a mess and film was messy to begin with. The one production co we contract to has had difficulty selling their films in Europe. Turns out Europeans don’t want Christmas movies that supposedly take place in middle America and don’t have a single white person in the cast.
