Honest question. To me it means the Apollo era when we were the first to land a man on the moon and earlier times when the country was less divided, we had more of a common goal.

AMERICA where you have freedom of speech and freedom to own guns and freedom to be left the fuck alone

FREEDOM

Pre-'68 illegal gun bans, pre-Federal government ordered rioting and race baiting, pre-welfare slavery, pre-agendas in schools, pre-tossing God out of Society.

Pre-gender-bending, pre-sanctuary cities and lack of the Rule of Law.

That's kinda the summation, before we lost the Rule of Law.

To me it’s simple. We seem to reference, “those were the good times”, “they don’t make’em how they used to”, “life was simpler then” etc....I take the phrase to reference a time when YOU felt America was strongest whether when we were building or a point in your life where remember being proudest in the USA.

3 big things:

The Economy and Budget

A return to the post-World War II Great American Economy. Eliminate or heavily restrict outsourcing. Stop importing foreign workers that undercut our salaries and wage growth. Stop importing foreign researchers who steal our tech and take our seats in higher education. Curb wage stagnation by requiring a larger share of corporate profits/growth go towards the American worker. Aggressively slash stifling anti-business regulation, leveraging federal law to ban oppressive state and local rules that make it difficult to start a business. Break up monopolies or regulate them as utilities, especially Big Tech gatekeepers. Encourage the perpetual formation of small businesses; reconstitute the famous "backbone of the American economy".

Abolish socialist-communist big government taxes and redistribution. Put the cash back in the American people's pockets; then encourage them to "help thy neighbor". It's always more efficient to run social programs for the poor at a local level than big government top-down. Charity should start with the local community, not federal mandates.

Get rid of wasteful federal agency spending wherever possible. Ban federal funding for any agenda deemed "unamerican".

Raise the baseline Federal Reserve interest rate to encourage a culture of saving (instead of spending into debt). This rewards savers - the American people stashing their money in a bank account for a rainy day. Additionally, it curbs megacorporate monopolization - since megacorporations thrive on easy debt.

American Freedom

Abolish "big government" and the #Swamp. Require all public officials to sign on to a code of honor loosely based on the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Aggressively prune and punish big government monetary waste. Introduce a balanced-budget agenda that bans deficit spending except in emergencies.

Abolish most licensing requirements; those have become a tool for state/local governments to oppress the people and dictate what you can and can't do in blatant violation of the Constitution. To name a few important examples: Make driving a fundamental right in line with American freedom, implement federal-level stand-your-ground/castle doctrine and open carry, remove licensing requirements for most firearms, remove restrictions on purchase and use of body armor, and abolish most professional licensing requirements except in cases where there's a pressing need for accreditation.

Clean the crookedness out of the courts and legal system. Roll back unconstitutional laws that allow authorities to snoop on the people. Put laws in place specifically banning China-style "social credit" systems under any guise, even those implemented by private companies. Ban "cancel culture". Aggressively punish big corporations that sack conservatives for "wrongthink".

Recognize that American Freedom is derived from a Judeo-Christian religious mindset; enshrine that belief as national principle through a "One Nation Under God" Act. Implement a special favored status for all branches of Christianity and Judaism to protect them from perpetual leftist assault.

Teach every new generation that America can only be the "land of the free" if it's also the "home of the brave". There is no freedom without bravery, since sniveling cowards will always cry to the nanny state for regulations and licensing requirements every time they get a boo-boo. In line with fostering a culture of bravery, update voting-rights laws so that every citizen must EARN the right to vote by completing at least 6 months in a service where they could potentially be called on to put their lives on the line for the country. Qualified service includes military (any branch), police force, firefighting/rescue operations, private security, hazardous jobs that can't be automated, and impromptu armed "neighborhood watch" community patrols. (Exemptions from this requirement will be made for medical conditions that prevent serving in such capacities.)

Make America Mighty Again

A booming economy and big freedom don't mean jack squat if the enemy can waltz in and take it from you. The third big part of #MAGA is making hostile nations respect and fear you so they won't dare. Build up the military in a smart and economic way. The idea is to have a dangerous military to deter war in the first place so you don't actually have to use it. Focus on robotics and AI; send a message that the next idiot to start a war with us will have to grind down their forces fighting an army of robots. We'll win through attrition if nothing else. Build up the nuclear arsenal, especially "unblockable" nukes such as cruise missiles and hypersonics.

Sever all economic ties with countries that hate us and want to dethrone us. Stop giving them our technology. China is the #1 offender. Launch pre-emptive targeted strikes to eliminate enemy leaders who threaten us and oppress their people. Drop a cruise missile on Xi Jinping and tell the Chinese people "you're welcome". Much of the Communist Party wants to get rid of Xi but they can't figure out how to. Vaporize Iran's parliament and the mullahcracy while they're in session.

Constitutional Law applied equally to all citizens... A Nation that looks after the interests of it's own citizens first and foremost... A Nation that Protects and defends it's citizens and interests from hostile foreign powers... A nation that rewards Patriotism and seeks to instill these values in its citizens.

America is great when it's moving forward

politicians are incentivized to maintain a status quo so their preferred shitbirds can squeeze it for money and power

making America great again should be about making actual progress, economic scientific and cultural progress

"progressives" have shifted focus to grievance culture and litigating the past, some of the only truly regressive things that can happen to a society

time for space, time for research to cure diseases and cancer, time to cold war China into a collapse of the CCP, time for Europe to defend itself against Russia and the middle east, time for Africa to buy roads and plumbing with our money instead of pissing it away pretending to be modern countries, time for Israel to be recognized so the middle east can transition into modern economies with normal international trade and travel

To me it’s not about going back to a certain time in our history. It’s about having national pride, it’s about having Strong economy, it’s about having the rule of law. You can look back in certain parts of our history and point to it. Space race is a good example, so is World War II, so is the 80s bringing about the fall of communism.

The country went down a slippery slope which led to a faster decline when Bush Senior was elected and accelerated with each president after that.
