What if I feel my congressman was representing me and my fellow people in the district, and then they get replaced by a Lindsey Graham-endorsed neocon bc his term ended?

no because of the way human work, these positions will be corrupted. sure you may have one great dude that has integrity, but over time every position will be filled by corrupted pawns.

otherwise, we might as well get monarchy - and yes seriously, it's not a bad system per se.

because they're "elected" for life you have plenty of time to hate them and kill them. besides their interest and their family interest is for their nation to be strong. they have less incentive to sell out to other nations because they're wealthy when their nation is wealthy.. because its theirs.

I don't love it in the general sense and I'm for term limits - but the point is that a good king beats the shit off a good senator every day of the week.

Yes, an argument can be made that term limits will give the political party machines more power. Tough call. Limit them, but not to just a single term, maybe? 3 for House and 2 for Senate?

reforming the GOP will take more than 3 terms..... Remember the 2016 primaries when most candidates were against him?

It encourages more people to get involved, and a better trend of shit getting fixed, than people getting rich. Anyone who wants to be in politics for an entire career isn't in it for the betterment of the Nation.

Here’s a simple solution, after 8 or 10 years, you can still run but need 70% of vote to win. This would ensure good people stay and anyone on the fence can take a hike

Ratios that high don't happen except in heavily lop-sided districts.

This is good. Maybe the limit has to be higher though. Another problem with having term limits is most of these people who tend to be "going with the wind" with keep electing AOCs of the world and dump them every 2 years on to us.

just like the POTUS- all government positions should have a term limit
