The opponent's opposition research is coming from Trump's mouth directly. So, he gets to frame it.
Just for one example so far In the tapes, Trump is not downplaying the virus. He is showing he is taking it very seriously. Yes, they will try to play it that he didn't show much concern publicly, but facts don't bare that out, and so it becomes cognitive dissonance.
All they have to say is that they are not campaign events, they are protests. ALL PROTESTS HAVE BEEN APPROVED!
Just look in the last two weeks the stuff they're just throwing at the wall to see what sticks. The "losers" comment about the dead soldiers, which I'm 90% sure they've already tried several times. The mini-strokes. Trump having a limp. Now Trump knew about COVID. I still think there's one more big thing they have, and maybe this is it, but I think in October, they're prepping now and getting everyone's story straight so they can drop some kind of sexual or racial allegation on him right before the election.
The thing is, anyone paying attention knew about Covid being deadly and a potential for a pandemic. I was monitoring COVID starting at the beginning of February because it looked ominous and and likely to spread. At that time, there were only about 30k confirmed cases almost entirely in China. It's just that the media and the dem politicians were so engrossed with impeachment that they ignored and downplayed everything just as much as Trump did, but for different reasons.
And let's not forget how many democrat politicians denounced Trump for taking things seriously and recommended people to gather in large groups well after this supposed interview took place.
I got so angry listening to that press briefing today that I had to turn it off.
I was talking about it in December. When it first hit, it looked like China was using it as an excuse to oppress dissidents. I never thought democrats would adopt actual communist tactics here at home.
