Which places are on fire right now? I don't watch news programs.

edit: It's caused by fires, right? If not, holy shit that's weird.

It's from the fires, most of them are in Northern California, and they are rapidly spreading because of the wind

We have a big old fire near me in San Diego. The sky was quite orange the other day. Some genius decide having a pyrotechnic gender reveal during a heat wave and high winds was a great idea.

They also spread because of the stupidity of the people who forbade clearing all the dry underbrush. They've probably never been on a nature trail before either.

It's hilarious because every single Leftist and 'Liberal' I've heard is blaming global warming, as if wildfires have never happened before. Literally, our landscape is shaped by wildwires, that's the whole point of coniferous forests.

And yet the Democrats in charge have let forest clearing funds for State Parks go out the window for stupid shit like high speed trains.

Oregon pede here. A 40,000 acre fire is 8 miles south of my house and the winds turn northward tomorrow for a couple of days. Another fire to the north. I've been in level 3 evacuation since noon, Blazer is loaded up. I'm still here though, got 500' of hose laid out. It's supposed to rain next week, hope I still have a house then.

I’m in the same boat. I lost my house in the Camp Fire, and just finally bought a new house here in Oroville in June. We’re under mandatory evacuation but there’s nothing even really close to us at the moment.

Last night was a bit sketchy though. We were up all night watching the orange glow along the ridge lines to determine if it was time to GTFO.

We’re all packed up but are staying put unless we’d become barbecue.

Thanks guys. I'm sitting here ignorant as hell.

edit: DAMN! That's a lot of fires. I wonder how many of them were caused by arson. Excellent map.

In California, most were caused by lighting in the extremely hot weather. Compound that with high wind, no rain, and extreme heat drying everything out and you have an absolute tinderbox. The sky has turned orange here in Oregon, too. I grew up in New England, so wildfires were completely new to me when I moved out this way. I've had my fill for a lifetime. I'd much sooner deal with blizzards and freezing temperatures than a raging inferno.

(All of them are arson.)

Ho Lee Phuk, that makes it look like our entire west coast from Baja California to Canada is on fire. And here I was expecting earthquake would be the final solution to Babylon, not fire for Sodom and Gomorrah

Weird that there were no shadows
