Oregon pede here. A 40,000 acre fire is 8 miles south of my house and the winds turn northward tomorrow for a couple of days. Another fire to the north. I've been in level 3 evacuation since noon, Blazer is loaded up. I'm still here though, got 500' of hose laid out. It's supposed to rain next week, hope I still have a house then.
I’m in the same boat. I lost my house in the Camp Fire, and just finally bought a new house here in Oroville in June. We’re under mandatory evacuation but there’s nothing even really close to us at the moment.
Last night was a bit sketchy though. We were up all night watching the orange glow along the ridge lines to determine if it was time to GTFO.
We’re all packed up but are staying put unless we’d become barbecue.
get a to-go bag together with any needed meds, important documents, saved to a flash drive if you want, non perishable food. Also fill milk jugs with water, 1 gallon per person per day. gather your to-go bag, toiletry bag and clothing bags all together at the front door. Please bring any pets with you, along with their food in serving size containers, meds and important papers. This way, all you need is grab and go at a moments notice.
