Take note that a lot of the articles and comments defending the movie describe it as being about "coming of age and discovering femininity." Whoredom is apparently construed as femininity now.

Honestly if it was to be about "coming of age and discovering femininity" why not make it some 18-20 year olds who are religiously supressed/nerdy introverts/etc who go off to college? Why 11 year olds?
