I thought there might be some over-reaction to Cuties, so watched the first half. This is a boring movie, which might be suitable for 10-12 year old girls if they cut out the perversion. It is mostly about petty childhood squabbles, friendships, coming of age, doing naughty things, girl power etc. I don't see why any normal adult would be in the least interested in this crap.
The 'rebel against family traditions' back-story was somewhat interesting, but a film wouldn't receive any attention if it was the main content.
There are lengthy scenes that progress the story very little, just kids dancing, twerking, spreading their legs, one exposes a breast. If they needed some of this content to demonstrate the type of things the girls get up to they could have shot it quite differently and of much shorter duration.
There is no need for minutes long dance sequences with close up shots of scantily clad kids. Only certain adults would find this appealing.
The same with a number of scenes with the girls messing around, squealing, jumping about, showing off, teasing guys in online chats etc. The sort of person who wants to see this cutesy crap reminds me of Jessica Yanev's fascination with young girls bathroom habits.
In addition to the sexualization we have a #MeToo scene where these future whores sneak into a lazer tag building and get caught by security who wants their parents' phone numbers. He grabs one by the arm and gets an instant 'stop copping a feel you child molester. You want us to call our lawyer? Is that what you want?' And of course they are soon let off. Quite a message to girls everywhere.
This is not something a child should watch, and anyone supporting it should be treated with suspicion.
