He wanted they money. I am convinced that anyone past Major (O-5) or Staff Sergeant (E-6) is a politician.

It's how the demons get in and out of the skin suit. Change my mind.

Has any source other than Washington Compost confirmed that? Mattis was a disappointment as secdef, but I'm not about to start trusting Woodward.

He was good for what Trump hired him to do, completely assrape ISIS. Past that, his usefulness quickly dwindled.

They probably have something on him, plus I'm sure lucrative book deals

The crazy swing he's showing late in life, versus the stories of what he used to be like, suggest you are on to something.

Caught by honeypot?

Everyone is caught in a honey pot, all your communication is being recorded. Your calls transcribed, your texts saved, emails, etc.

You'd think he'd be on board after realizing Obama was arming rebels "As head of Central Command, Mattis oversaw the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and was responsible for a region that includes Syria, Iran, and Yemen.[70] He lobbied the Obama administration for a more aggressive response to Iran, including more covert operations and disruption of Iranian arms shipments to Syria and Yemen. According to Leon Panetta, the Obama administration did not place much trust in Mattis because he was perceived as too eager for a military confrontation with Iran. Panetta later said Mattis lacked "the maturity to look at all of the options that a president should look at in order to make the right decisions" - wiki

Maybe has to do with this: "Mattis has never been married[59] and has no children.[2] He proposed to a woman, but she called off the wedding days before it was to occur, not wanting to burden his career.[23] He is nicknamed "The Warrior Monk" because of his bachelorhood and lifelong devotion to the study of war.[171] An avid reader, he has 7000 books in his private library,[172] and has recommended Marcus Aurelius's Meditations as the one book every American should read"

If I couldn't get chicks and I met Trump, I'd feel less than a man

DeVos was a major investor. She seems useless as well.

If you got your star under Obama, that is absolutely a given.

I have and continue to interact with GO's nearly every day. Some I knew as CPTs. Every one that made it was a politician first and a leader second.

One newly promoted two star I met for the first time shortly after he took command spent most of the conversation obsessing over who was his competition for the three star position he coveted. He was also a rabid anti-Trumper - go figure.

There needs to be a shakeup in DoD at the senior leader level.

yep. people think it was only the marxist infiltration under obama, but they're ignoring the decades of globalist bullshit that had already been going on. for fucks sake, HW Bush could have done incalculable damage in terms of who 3 letter agencies and the military were taking in as new people who would be in charge... oh right around now-ish.

the keyword there is was

the thing is is that sometimes people can change, or rather they might reveal that they weren't who you thought they were the whole time. life can be complicated like that sometimes

it's a lesson that you shouldn't blindly trust anybody or anything. remember the old saying "trust, but verify".

Agree completely - as soon as you're competing for Field Grade (Major O-4 and above) you are invited to suck dick to get ahead.
