If taking care of my family comes first, I probably wouldn't try to escape my communist shithole country without them and then prop up my homeland's sham economy with foreign money. The average ANNUAL income in Guatemala is $1,619. If you're making $18/hr framing houses - you make more in 2 weeks than your dad makes in a year back home.
I'm not saying I want to engineer more remittances - because you're right - it bleeds equity out of our country. But at the individual level, sending your mom a years salary cuz you're flush with cash - that's based.
That being said - my story perfectly illustrates why we need merit based immigration. That way we're not depressing wages for the trades, and sending engineer money over to India

What you just said about latinos could almost equally be said about blacks at large, especially if you exclude the ghettos. Most everyday normal American blacks I've interacted with have large extended families oftentimes having grandparents living in the home or live closeby and are heavily involved with the family, think the family from Family Matters. They're religious, also very traditional about gay shit. Yet they continue to vote Democrat year after year even though the Democrat platform is counter to their values.
We are not race realists.the conservative aspects of blacks are just how people normally behave around the world but most of the other values of their community line up with leftists. Leftist are very identitarian and blacks are the most identitarian group in America after Jews.
The blacks you see everyday and interact with, are just a small fraction or outlier of the black community.Blacks can become more conservative and non-tribal but we have to be realistic and know the behaviour of the various demographics in the country.
