So... you expect us to believe that a spec-ops guy somehow volunteered for a suicide mission against his own country? Not buying it.

Sf works with intelligence all the time. You think intelligence doesn't compartmentalize these things to the point participants aren't even aware they're getting thrown under a bus?

Wasn't he also a commie who defected to the USSR?

Yes and then was somehow allowed back into the US to shoot at the president.

I think ppl forget that the US gov't, even at the federal level, is neither as all-powerful, nor anywhere near as competent as they are portrayed in pop-media (something any of us who have had to apply with the VA know all too well firsthand).

After all, the US gov't was warned about the Tsarnaev brothers by other nations, & still allowed them back into the country which let them carry out the Boston marathon bombings.

When I was doing my citizenship test, they had to ask me if I was ever part of any terrorist group or the communist party. Do you know why they ask this standard question to everyone applying for naturalization? Because they don't know.

I later worked in military intel when I served in the USAF, trust me, the juicy stuff takes a lot of time and resources. Did you know that to train just 1 of us cryptological linguists takes hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars & (depending on the language you train in), up to 3 years of training at DLI (Defense Language Institute) (particularly for the Category 4 langs like Chinese or Pashto)?

Thats the story. JFK also wanted to disband the CIA.

JFK was a war criminal who violated the prohibition on chemical weapons in Vietnam, an atrocity that still afflicts not only the indigs but our surviving vets.

Good riddance to him.

I mean I'm not saying it's true, but it's not like the CIA and FBI haven't done crazier stuff. I agree that there needs to be more evidence in this case to say it as if it's a for sure thing

Exactly. W/o ironclad evidence, I'm very skeptical. For one, anyone cunning enough to pull something like that off will be cunning enough to sow disinformation to throw opponents off their trail & discredit their critics.
