At this point I'm really starting to suspect they've totally given up on trying to win control and power back and decided to go scorched Earth and drive those who still follow them into total insanity.

To them they're in clown world, climate change is causing all these fires and crazed Nazis are claiming peaceful protesters did it. It's gotta suck to live in that alternate reality.
