The key thing holding this back is polling of senior citizens.
If the polling is true, seniors are terrified and want lockdowns. I feel like this is the #1 reason Trump shills for corona. #2 is he wants to stoke anti-china sentiment.
Both of my parents are over 65 and are TERRIFIED of Covid...
Alaska has had 60 deaths in a state of over 600k people. They would walk over glass to vote for Trump, but COVID is a huge deal to them. That being said, they also acknowledge that they are in the prime age group, and stay home unless they have to go do something, not hindering anyone else that isn't afraid.
My mother doesn't watch much, but my dad lives and dies with the Today show and NBC Nightly News. Old habits that are hard to break. But he makes fun of them more than watches, I think it's more their friends, who many are obese, have cancer, or some other malady that instill the fear in them.
MSM is continuing to propagate fear in our elders. It's a shame. All we can do is be patient, research the real facts and educate them. My mother is in her 80's and when it started we were all concerned for safety. Within a month of the start of the crisis we had researched enough to know something wasn't right . We instantly stopped masking and haven't since. We take her shopping, don't wear masks, and she is content. All of our older population must be educated so they can overcome the MSM lies. Keep at it.
