I know this post is not Trump relevent, but I make relevent posts/comments 99% of the time, so it's whatevs. Anyway, my wife and I just saw Bill and Ted Face The Music and I have to say...I feel SOOOO refreshed. This movie was completely apolitical, not woke, not PC, not a 'bottomline' driven, china sucking-fest. It was just genuinely a good movie, and probably the best throwback nostalgia sequel I've ever seen. It was just like seeing a movie from the 1990s made in 2020. Keanu Reaves and Alex Winter just plain wanted to make it good. Keanu did NOT have to make this movie at all, he just wanted to. It must have been a ton of fun to produce. The reason I'm posting this here is because it was a small slice of the way things were BEFORE. Which I think is the heart of true conservatism. Not necessarily about religious or even enviornmental conservatism...just sustaining or going back to a time when things could just BE. From the moment that film came on to the moment I stepped in that parking lot to leave...I got to just enjoy a film without feeling inundated by people trying to make me think a certain way. Even if that were the case, the way I feel about the movie is what I WANTED to feel like coming out of it.

Again, I know this wasn't Trump related but I hope if you took the time to read this then maybe you can chew on it as some brain food. We need more 'JUST BEING' in our lives and not always be mobilized for or against something.

Peace out Pedes!

Interesting commentary. This pede had a wholly opposite view of the movie a few days ago. Now I’m befuddled.

Okay, so the point about the sons is true....BUT, theres a really good but to this...I saw a youtuber from over a year ago make a video about them being daughters now. First of all, the script was written in 2011, way before all this hyper wokeism stuff. Not saying there wasn't agenda driver stuff before 2014, but thats when it really started taking off. They think that the decision to write them as girls now would be funny, since their names are plays on Bill and Teds names. EVEN BETTER, they predicted in their video that the girls would turn out to be slackers like their dads, which undermines the narrative of 'women do everything better than men' trope. In the movie, Bill and Ted still save the day and the contribution of their daughters was by accident. I thought it was quite well done given what we see typically of heroines in movies now. In a nutshell, they didn't go Atomic Blonde on us. Hell, Bill and Ted actually save their daughters FIRST in this movie.

All that aside...I still don't care. The movie did what I wanted it to and in fact exceeded expectations. If someone wants to get hung up on the traces of modern feminism in the movie, then that's their loss. It's not gonna get any less woke than Face the Music in 2020. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
