I think you can believe that gay marriage is wrong just as much as you can think Christianity is wrong. There shouldn’t be a Thought Police mentality. Just treat people decent. Nobody has to validate your beliefs in order for you to keep them either.
The issue with gay marriage, as a conservative, was the slippery slope. Honestly regular straight Americans make such a mockery of marriage that gays marrying doesn't insult or degrade it at all.
If marriage were limited to people who have true existential love and absolute clarity of intent and emotion needed in order to properly take the marriage vow to become one flesh and one existence, 99% of married couples wouldn't be married… However, anyone can get married regardless of the quality or strength of their relationship.
Unfortunately the slippery slope is real, we gave them an inch in gay marriage and they took a mile in the trans agenda and identity politics. Plenty of us knew gay marriage wasn't the issue, but Obama royally screwed us over, he broke the dam and we have the clown world to show for it

I've always been in support of gay marriage, but have to admit that the slippery slope argument had a point, to say the least.
When people make predictions, and those predictions turn out to be right, we should listen to them in the future.
