The author was a CIA operative. Its about his insertion into the Afghanistan along with other operatives to determine who was responsible and where Bin Laden was located.

They apparently had to go purchase some of their own gear due to the short notice they were being flown over and took suitcases of cash with them. I know we all have serious doubts about the CIA, but it is an interesting book nonetheless.
