I have a close friend trapped on the east coast as of now.
Told me Govenor Kate Brown* is really fighting deploying the NG and had sent all their fireretardent C130 planes to cali before hand.
He said yesterday she was finally pressured into giving the fire marshal the right to use NG. Made a fuss about it, saying only use for extream circumstances and at minimal.
Said last year the first thing they did was utilize, fully, the NG. What changed?
She went on record and stated the loss of human life will be difficult to bear.
If she knows it's bad, why not act like it?
He even told me some fire fighters are too scared because it's so dangerous and civilians are stepping in and fighting fires.

I have farm buddies who have been filling up their own pump trucks and doing night runs to help put out fires, dig fire trenches, cut down trees - that type of stuff.
The city kids don’t seem to care, if that weird WAP creature isn’t telling them what to think, they can’t think for themselves. On the other hand the country folk are all working together in this. Letting people board for free on their farms, ranches etc. Putting themselves at risk to help out. Bringing supplies, dragging logs out of the way of stuck motorists. They’ve been even forming their own neighborhood watch groups to go around and protect property from looters. The media is branding them as right wing extremists hunting for Antifa.
Kate Brown is a joke. Her response is a joke. I hope all things with your friend and their family work out and they are safe.
Also, when it comes to the Guard, I know a ton of men and women out here who in previous years stepped up and volunteered. This year is strangely different I’ve noticed as well. They are letting this happen.
