Polygamy only works under a misogynist framework. If you establish patriarchy, beat women and indoctrinate them to obey, sprinkle a little bit of child marriage/state-sanctioned pedophilia into the mix, then yes, polygamy might work. But the joy of Western culture is the freedom women have, and very few of them would willingly agree to be a 3rd wife to someone.
