The first episode of the X-Files spin-off series, "The Long Gunmen" revolved around the Deep State crashing a plane into the WTC & using it as the impetus to start a war. This episode aired 6 months before 9/11. I am NOT a 9/11 Truther, but I believe it's possible "someone" used this as inspiration.

Islamic maniacs had tried to take down the towers before, in 1993. And planes had crashed into skyscrapers before, including the Empire State Building. It's not inconceivable that people could have put those events together to come up with the idea. I even remember people making jokes about that kind of thing long before it happened. It was never not imaginable.

Marwan al Shehhi and Mohammed Atta were in the US learning to fly for over a year before the attacks. Shehhi piloted the plane my friend and 64 other souls were on.
