I grew up in the 80s and 90s, and I can confirm I have been taught to see these crusades (very limited number) as abhorrent examples of Christianity. However, even though I know that narrative, I have questioned it the last few decades, because there's quite frankly shit going on that I'd say has crossed the line justifying some crusading... Does anyone know of some good documentaries, or books that challenge and crush these old "crusades had no justifiable merit?"
