Me as well! Knew it was on the tv and I didn’t even think twice about not watching. It was easy.

Didn’t even think twice about those anti American players that throw and catch a ball..

It gets easier. I stopped watching around the time that dude blasted his girlfriend in the elevator. I know he never saw another snap, but it had me realizing how it was even up for debate and all the other thugs out on the field.

Its so easy not to watch now, but it was difficult at first.

Was a die hard fan for 43 years, not anymore. Won't give another minute of time or dollar from my pocket to them and their scumbag sister orgs (MLB, NHL, NBA, etc.). I sincerely hope they all go out of business.

Was a die hard fan for 43 years,

I started as a teenager in the mid-1960s (!) and started tapering off in the 90s. My interest tapered off with free-agency and, especially, the increase in astroturfed indoor venues. No mud, no rain/snow, no fog (remember the "fog bowl"?), no grass stains and a "sport" that turned corporate.

The Janet Jackson titty-fiasco was the confirmation that NFL management had turned stupid: Who the hell hires MTV to do the halftime show and is surprised by that result? They're still stupid to this day.

We went from "superbowl only" to no fuhbaw [1] in the early 2000s.

[1] The only "fuhbaw" I'll watch now if Bob Nelson's hilarious comedy sketch. Look it up if you haven't seen it.

Don't just do negative action with boycotts and bans, we also need positive action like registering to vote, whether ourselves or others.

LOTS and LOTS of conservatives and Trump supporters have STILL not registered to vote. Even some Democrats who are now switching sides have not registered. Check your status, register yourselves and get others who are passionate about Trump and conservative values if you or they haven't yet registered:

https://www.usa.gov/register-to-vote#item-212645 (or check the side bar)

Remember that this is a numbers game and we need to WIN!

We did too. We gave it up last year. And before anyone calls me a loser for loving sportsball, I'd like to explain something. Some families, like ours, used Sunday football to gather our family together each week. Dad would grill. We'd bring a dessert. Sometimes it was just hotdogs and watermelon, and watching the Saints lose but it was WONDERFUL because we were together. No one gets louder during a game than my Mom! We would laugh SO hard as she berated Drew!

The NFL broke our hearts because they fucking destroyed our tradition. We are doing "movie night" now, but it's shit. Fuck the commie bastards that ruined sports.

Bring on the board games

"Movie night"? Why support Pedowood?

1
Gold-Eyed-Cat 1 point ago +1 / -0

Fine. We'll cancel shitty movie night. We'll just throw playing cards in a fucking hat on the floor. Made in America playing cards. MAGA hat. Using only our right hands. While discussing politics, because every single second of every fucking day has to be 100% about politics now.

I'm not mad at you. Please don't misunderstand. But I will not have my parents much longer and I just wanted to enjoy some fucking sportsball games and talk mindless shit about the teams and players, because we get to spend time together and laugh, and not think about cancer or commies taking over the White House. BUT every single thing now is an anti-American commie cancel-culture psi-op and it makes me bitchy.

Thanks for sharing your story. Our family had the same tradition.

Football wasn't a sport to us... it was a catalyst for family, food, and fun... like any other holiday.

We've traded NFL racism for board games and are having a blast! We serve lots of food, alchol, and laughter. It's still competitive and fun.

I wish you the best, and if you'd like any suggestions for amazing, fun board games, feel free to message me. (Mom could get more raucous with games than movies :)

I used to watch opening games of baseball without fail. This year’s Opening day Marxist BLM demonstration has me passing on the entire season.

Good job, and continue being strong! We love you, man! 🍺🐸👍

I really appreciate your comment, brother.

For many years football was an important family/cultural thing for me.....

But, priorities are easily changed when racist people hate us.

Thanks for your kind words. You make this community great. Love you too, man!

My husband loves football. I left last nite for a little while and asked him about the game when I returned. He told me he only watched a few plays and turned it back to Nat Geo Wild for Big Cat week. I think his heart is broken over the bullshit💩

weldgod 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thank you for your sacrifice. No joke, I know it is not easy for some people. Never been into NFL myself, I was sad to see hockey go this way.

Same! Lifelong Vikings fan, since the 70s with Fran Tarkington.

After taking this season off, I wonder if I'll ever care to return? Will you?

I lasted 4 minutes. I watched just to see how Al Michaels would balance professionalism with his obvious disdain for this horseshit. The first words out of Collinsworth's mouth were "Social Justice". You could actually see Al thinking, "Can we just play some g.d. football?"

ItsPronouncedGyna 2 points ago +2 / -0

Same!

TheVanNuys 2 points ago +2 / -0

If I paid good money to sit and watch two professional football teams fight to the death, and before they did that they decided to form a covid unity chain in the middle of the field, you're damn right I'll boo the shit out of it. First of all it's incredibly stupid and it makes them look like pussies, it's the same pandering that normal people are fucking sick of, and the worst part is that it pretends to be virtue signaling. Literally, nobody gives a shit about these player's or coach's opinions, and if they wanted them to care they could all be like Kaepernicky or get their communications degree finally so they can be a talking head on CNN... or they can leave the league to move back to their hometowns so they can join their fellow peaceful protesters... but I doubt that will ever happen... because they chose to earn a living by playing professional football, or so we fucking hoped.

Me too. F all those protests that infer that we all are racists.

2
7.62swinebuster 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yep. I love the elder conservatives in my family that raise holy h3ll about the ANTIFA/BLM support ruining the country but then wanna talk about all aspects of the game. They seem floored I didn't watch and won;t watch that sht. I might tune back in when the NFL is in financial crisis or when cities that defund police literally have riots showing up at Stadium events.

Another American institution taken down and you idiots cheer. Useful morons.

0
justinkayz 0 points ago +1 / -1

Yup...that is the goal...destroy American institutions. The problem is though, how can anyone stand to watch this SJW crap while just wanting to enjoy a game. So let them destroy this institution...it has woke up a lot of people to the insanity of the left. When the commie purge is over, we will rebuild our institutions

Now, how about you choose life over a brain destroying war simulation "sport." Never go back to football.

The NFL is CTE.

The normal actions of the NFL cause the neurological degenerative disease known as Concussive Traumatic Encephalopathy in its players. It is a life ruining/ending condition.

Everyone supporting football is supporting head injuries, CTE, and brain trauma for young men.

Concussion protocol is a failure.
