Organized News/media has always struggled with morals and ethics since it’s inception. Most of the problems we have with it aren’t new problems. They are just becoming obvious.
The window for ethical reasoning has been eliminated to nothing. Any journalist at least had a few hours after the inception of a story to process the morality behind it when newspapers were on a daily cycle of print. Now everything is instant, and the pressure only allows for immediate release, no matter how damaging or fake.
