Most people do not realize what this means. Sure, NY's electoral votes would be great for Trump, help secure the re-election.
But when Trump said "NY is in play", the big picture here is not NY. If NY could flip red, what does that mean for states like PA, OH, FL, CO, and WI. What does that even mean for states like IL?
When Trump said NY is in play, he wasnt talking about 29 electoral votes. He was hinting at just how large this landslide is going to be.
That's a great point. Even if Trump loses by like 5% NY, that means he probably won PA by 5 points, Florida by 5, Ohio by 10, Michigan by 5, means he won Winsconsin and Minnesota, etc.
These are the top 10 lowest % vote for Trump states in 2016
Hawaii 30%
Vermont 32.6%
California 33%
Massasschusetts 33.5%
Maryland 35%
New York 37.5%
Washington 38%
Illinois 39.4%
Rhode Island 39.8%
New Mexico 40%
All other states that he last were over 40%, so pretty close. Assume New York is Narrow loss, there's a chance Trump only loses those top 6 states. Oregon for example was 41/51 trump/hitlery. 5% of Gary Aleppo and 2.5% for Jilly. With all the bullshit in Portland, could Trump Swing those 10 point gap over 2016? Maybe, he doesn't miss a chance to call out Portland's Mayor and Oregon's governor, and he definitely does this for many reasons, one of them is he's going for the win there. People may just be about fed up with all this shit.
