I disagree. It weakens his clout. The lower the ratings for NFL, the stronger his word is, the more clout he has when he speaks about them, and to them.
If he says we should tune out, and then they have moderate ratings, they don't care what he says. If he says tune out, and their ratings go to hell, they say, oh shit! How do we fix this?! And they will switch their position. President Trump will be more respected by them, because they know he has the power to strongly effect their ratings. This will have a ripple effect with other corporate players.
You know what I say is reasonable. You do. You just want to watch your game regardless.
Just say "I'm voting for Trump, and watching my games, even if I am funding the Marxists."
Blurpy, our Beloved god-Emperor has called us away from sports-mania Idolatry. It was some time ago when I realized he was calling on us to lay down ALL of our idols. I think I'm with you when I say we need to be investing in each other, investing in our communities, investing in our Churches and our schools (whatever is best for your children). We don't have TIME (or financial resources) to invest in highly-paid entertainers of ANY version. Invest in prayer (for EVERYTHING), invest in learning/teaching, invest in our Children and in our Elders. Invest in our relationship with the ONLY Living God in Christ.
Sorry if I'm ranting. I think you're onto something...
You are not ranting at all. We are on the same page. I wasn't being theological about my position, but I like everything you wrote. We'd be a whole lot better off in the USA if everyone focused on their families and their faith.
This NFL/Sports issue is SO winnable for us, and quickly, if we all would just work together. The ripple effect to the corporate posturing towards the Marxists would be astounding. A wave of Patriotism would wash through every boardroom and ad agency in the land... if only we could turn the channel to something different.
It does not "hurt the President". Get real.

Sad.
