Me too. Nowadays I'm getting numb to seeing the far-away pictures of the towers getting hit - the ones you see all over the newspapers and such. However when I see pictures of the people jumping - people who threw their bodies out of windows to certain death to get away from the flames, or when I hear those last messages of people calling home from the planes, I burst into tears.
Yeah that was the most jarring thing as a kid watching the news and seeing dots flying out the window. I remember thinking whats that? Than reality hit and I realized that those were people and they were jumping to their deaths. Everything was live and the reporters had no idea what to say or do, just continue to watch and report what was going on. The whole country was left in absolute shock that day.
30 something years old and it was every bit as jarring, inexplicable, stupifying ...
There's a phrase going around "Communists aren't people." Well, this level of depravity exists in horrible human beings. Jihadists and Marxists have a LOT of overlap. Are we ready to do what needs to be done? Re: the DS too?
