He's smart enough to twist clear sensibilities into his own demented world view, and he's done it often. For example, he twists unlimited migration into an argument about economic progress while downplaying all the negatives associated.
There is no country that actually needs immigration. Immigration just prevents companies from paying the actual wage of labor while passing on the actual costs to the consumer.
