Agreed this is one of the major problems. The news distracts us from the important news by pushing celebrity bullshit. It has been going on for decades now. I have always noticed it but felt powerless to do anything about it. My wife used to get mad at me because I would constantly ask her why she watched all the bs.
The msm and sports media has elevated all these Hollywood actors and athletes to almost diety type status. It makes sense if there really was a mockingbird style program that this is how they would distract us.
Because people shell out millions every year to watch them play. Overpriced Tickets, Overpriced stadium food, Overpriced Stadium parking, Overpriced brand name team merchandise. Hell overpriced souvenirs and merchandise in general. It all adds up to make players extremely valuable.
But it’s human nature. We always end up creating some variation of aristocracy. Even if it doesn’t have a direct hand in running the nation it’s still present Modern Day it’s Hollywood and Sports stars. In the late 19th and early 20th century’s it was business tycoons like Carnegie, Rockefeller, Vanderbilt etc.
So on and so forth. Eventually we’ll cycle back around to Military leaders and Generals.
