Road trips are always better than flying in my opinion because you have more freedom. Besides what you’ve mentioned, you have your own car once you get to your destination. You can choose to go anywhere without worrying about the cost or availability of transportation. I never fly to go on vacation in the continental US. Shit, I’ve even been to Alaska and I think I would legitimately drive there if I went again. Fuck flying. I’ve driven even when flying would be cheaper because I like it that much.
Edit: also long drives are great for bonding with your friends and family through intimate conversations!
Flying seems like it sucks balls these days. Pretty sure I’m going to drive for my next vacation.
