Since most shells fire multiple pellets of differing size, a rifled barrel would widen the area of impact wider but reduce it’s effectiveness (I saw a video explaining it and going off memory. So I may not be totally correct). With a slug round since most, or possibly all, shotguns don’t have rifles barrels, you cannot really get a ballistic matching. And on a side note. Some slugs I’ve seen and even own, the slug round itself will have rifled groves, giving it that spin you normally wouldn’t get.
I am so stupid that I finally realized the FBI was always a do nothing shit law enforcement agency and political in. nature. Now that they are needed to actually arrest people and investigate real crimes its way over their pay grade to handle.
