He and his wife (I know his Mom who lives nearby them too) were oblivious to the "Cuties" program program's controversy on Netflix. The sole reason that it casme up in conversation at all, was that my friend was watching Netflix as I entered their home. His wife told him to save "Dexter" and get off the couch as I walked-in. I greeted them, and then made an off-hand comment about how Netflix might be experiencing a drop in their stock as a result of the controversy. They both stared at me and asked what I was talking about. I gave a quick rundown, and they both were reflexivile repulsed. Enter my friend's Mom from the kitchen, she was viisiting becase she knew that I was stipping by. Now she had "heard" something on Facebook about it, but hadn't followed it up.
So, there are three adults who are online, have Netflix, and a couple of days into the hot reaction to the Cuties' programming, and they had practically zero knowledge of the situation, yet were appropriately disgusted when the information about Netflix's program was set in front of them on a prepared plate.
Now, I barely watch television. I only have cable TV because in order to get my Internet, I am compelled to get what's referred to as a "Lifeline" package, which includes cable TV. I barely watch cable television. The weather channel... because it broadcasts my local weather in some detail is one of the very few reasons that I turn it on at all. I can and do often go weeks withiout it and I simply don't care. My girlfriend cares, but I have an extensive library of movies and TV shows on hard drives (and old DVDs), so that covers me there.
The balance... people don't know, or don't care and are often clueless. I love thedonald.win (and r/The_Donald before it), and am tempted often to while-away my online time here, but I realize the danger of the echo chamber/fish bowl mentality. We see it and read about it daily from the mnions living in Washington D.C. and NYC. The tunnel-vision. If you are too close to the trees, you simply cannot see the forest. Back out sometimes, and get a good wide look. Read what the other side writes as infuriating as it may be. Attempt to walk in their shoes... or the thorazine induced shuffling slippers of the deranged in-patients as they might be. And try to get the big view. You're far less likely to be surprised and caught off guard when the latest outrage hits the headlines (or more importantly fails to).

Yesterday they were oblivious, and today they're pissed...motivated. They know that this is a Biden/Harris Hollywood production, the Mom and the sister-in-law will be in church tomorrow, and talking to their friends in the community. My friend will be at work among dozens of co-workers armed with this knowledge. Those that didn't know will know now. The MSM has efectively cut off the unmotivated, the ones who are too engaged otherwise, the ones that sit happily in their fish bowl until aomething foreign is plopped inside.
I just canceled this morning after 15 years and told them it was because I was tired of the woke leftist narratives and support of pedophiles. I had been thinking about it for a while but this pushed me over the edge. Bye bye you pieces of shit.
