I don't really care about the environmental stuff, but I do know that direct power makes a faster car. The fastest drag cars to exist are currently all electric. I kinda want one just to go 0-60 in 1.6s.
If only there was some way to put the generator in the car so it would have power wherever it went. And maybe there could be some kind of tank of diesel in the car too so the generator would have power...
Those of you saying you like the torque of electric cars: that's not the problem they are made to solve. They solve the problem of very high fuel consumption when navigating traffic jams in cities. That's why hybrid cars are so great: they can be efficient in the city by using the electric motor, and be fuel-efficient when outside the city. Also, you don't need a diesel fucking generator because it's the fuel power plant that charges the electric battery. A pure EV is a lot less comfortable to drive because long-distance trips need to be planned along charging stations, but that's not the worst - the worst is you have to wait until your car is charged. Imagine taking a 2 hour break during your journey to refuel - it's insane!
hah, thats exactly how diesel electric trains run, since gas engines only provide max efficiency at a given RPM, they keep the gas engine at peak efficiency, and electric motors are much better at torque conversion you get a more economical hybrid system
Two engines, burning separate fuel types, charging an electric motor to save the planet is progressive. Bigot.
Jeez, how do you not grasp how electricity is so much better for the enviornment.
Do you not understand science you stone age conservatives?

I kinda want a Tesla for its torque and it seems kinda fun to drive. I have no delusions about it saving the planet.
The only "smart" in this picture is whoever started the company that owns the van.
Ha, that is in Vienna, Austria! Not surprised. The grid to charge your EV is not great.

lol it like in Hawaii everyone drives around electric cars, but the power plant that supplies said power is a diesel burning plant lol.
In the same vein...
