I want a homestead. With pigs, dogs, a couple of goats and chickens. Probably some sheep.
But I can’t imagine raising an animal just to eat it. I’m too emotional for that shit! I still feel guilty as 10 types of fucks for putting my dog down in January 2016. 🥺😭
Trust me when you have spent $200 on fence repairs after your $100 pig got out and decimated your vegetable garden with. no. guilt. Visions of pork chops and bacon will start shamelessly floating in your head.
I think chickens are a good way to break into meat raising. I raise both hens for eggs and Cornish crosses for meat. It was definitely rough putting them out and still is to be completely honest. I just had a cow and a pig done too. It’s definitely a blood pumping experience but it can be normalized even for animal lovers like myself. Fresh meat tastes so much better than store bought and the appreciation is something you can’t replicate. I’m just a city boy from San Diego as well so it can definitely be done.
My mom used to kill chickens for the family dinner when she was little. She said she'd just grab them by the neck and spin them around until the head popped off. Not joking.
For the animal lovers in this thread, have a nice hard think about all the ones who were just burned alive in the arson fires. Keep in mind that the same ruthlessness can be enacted upon humans.
Are all the helicopter memes today because of the fires in particular? These scumbags and their supporters are losing more and more simp-athizers by the minute.

Actually, I would have a pet pig. There’s a video of a person with 3 dogs and a pet pig.
Life goals tbh
Would you get one of those small potbellied ones? They are ridiculously cute.
Maybe! But I know there’s no such thing as a small pig!
I’m not vegan cuz I have a spine. I will just have to go shopping for meat. I already took up gardening thanks to the lockdowns. 😅
Though bacon is the only pork product I will eat. Pigs are my favorite animal, but I am American and we eats bacon, damnit.
Pigs are excellent creatures, excellent for cleaning up Liberal mess. XD
Bacon and ribs yumyumyum

Damn, that’s one way. I just cut the arteries when they’re upside down in a cone. I think you get better drainage of blood that way.

some animals were made for the food chain. some animals are angels in fur coats. you can eat a chicken and still love your dog
