The reason why I'm asking is that my sister told me she became a democrat (or rather, a far leftist in the current year) because of this book. I think if I can pick apart this book it would give me the best chance of saving her, but I haven't read it yet, so I'm wondering if anyone has read it and could tell me if it's worth the time. It did cover the early 2000s republicans and Bush, and Bush was pretty bad, so I could just be wasting my time.

Why does she listen to a guy that tried to grab a sleeping woman breasts?

I think it’s funny any time they eat their own, but Franken is a comedian (at least used to be) – that photo of him with the “breast”, his hands were prob five or 6 inches away from her, and he did it for a visual/prop joke. I’m pretty sure he never touched her, and he did it for comedic value, it just failed, And he end up paying big-time for a “bad joke”

Al Franken? The man who was forced to resign from the senate due to sexual assault allegations?

As you said, Al Franken was a product of a different time. Al Franken's New Deal/Great Society liberalism and George W. Bush's movement conservatism are no longer relevant. There has been a sea change over the 2012-2020 time frame. Thinking people who formed their beliefs and allegiances before then owe it to themselves to re-evaluate them.

Personally, I think Franken was one of the best conservative champions ever. The comic collapse of Air America proved that it wasn't about AM outreach, it was about superior ideas.

Many politicians lie, and it's not isolated to democrat or republican. Historically the press has lied as well, but what seems to be new now is the blatant untruths and doubling down on them. Bush was a globalist, and is not liked by many Trump supporters. Using the fact that some politicians lies were called out to pick a party is seriously cherry picking reasons to support a decision, rather than making a decision based on facts.

Read it and come back with specific points, they’ve been systematically rebutted here over the years but a whole book at once is a big ask

It's central thesis is "Clinton good, Bush bad"

Therefore "Democrat good, Republican bad"

Does she even know Trump's agenda and accomplishments? Sounds like she has blind party loyalty.

You mean the book says republican's from the bush era are shit stains, and they endorsed both Hillary and Biden. Hmmm maybe she needs to reread her book.

I hate to say it but if your sister is for nine month to “live birth” abortions, socialism, Is OK with homelessness, tent cities, feces covered streets, Abolishing the police, the green new deal, believes in BLM, does not think antifa is a terrorist organization, and has TDS, you might just be better off saving your breath

If I did, it was a long fucking time ago. But probably.

Al Franken? You mean the guy who "won" high public office by ballot-box stuffing?

Give her Hillary’s America. I read 30 pages and shut the book because there was no way it could be true...

It all started unraveling from there.

Somewhere, I have a meme that I made when it was written. Seems like it was early-to-mid 2000s. Pretty sure my parody was authored by "Frank Allen" but damned if I can find it on my computer.

It was back when gorilla boy had a show on the failed (but funded illegally by the Boy's Club) Air America. I tried listening to it but, having graduated from 7th grade, it was no longer relevant to me.

As an aside, when Hannity The Interruptor lost his paid punching bag (Alan Colmes), I was hoping they'd replace "Hannity and Colmes" with "Savage Rhodes" (Michael Savage and Randi Rhodes). That would have been awesome.
