West sides of Oregon and Washington never get high number of forest fires like the east sides of those states do - because on the east sides of these states, during the driest time of year in August into September, there are these dry weather rainless lightening storms. And those lightening storms cause most forest fires. The west sides of these states don't get those kind of lightening storms (when you're in one of these rainless lightening storms, they're like being in a freaking war zone).
Unlike violent lightening storms in the mid to lower 48 states, these dry weather lightening storms in Oregon and Washington, relatively speaking, don't, pack much rain - but they pack a hell of a lot of lightening. They're a marvel to behold (to be in the midst of one) but are simultaneously frightening for their propensity to set dry forest on fire.
That's why it's a complete freak of nature for there to be so many fires up and down the I5 corridor of California, Oregon, Washington in the year 2020.
Something has to set these numerous fires off. And there have been no such dry weather, "rainless" lightening storms in those areas to cause that (there virtually never are).
Okay, maybe an aging electrical grid transformer caused one of the bad ones - but there are lots more up and down that corridor - there were no such explanatory causes for all these numerous west-side forest fires (adjacent to highways and adjacent to homes)
