These people want to put historical movements in convenient little ideological boxes in order to promote their modern politics. It's simply the dumbing down of history for personal gain.

The modern "right" is nowhere close to the Nazi party in terms of authoritarianism, centralization and freedom of expression. People saying otherwise are hacks who are trying to conflate "the right" with "bad guy"
