Anyone who doesn't believe this should just try it. Send only thedonald.win link to a tmobile user who has an iphone. This happened when I sent it. Scary as fuck but this is real.

9
MarcusAurelius 9 points ago +9 / -0

No, SMS messages are considered an information service, not subject to common carrier protections.

https://www.natlawreview.com/article/now-i-get-it-using-fcc-s-order-keeping-text-messages-information-services-to-better#:~:text=Well%20the%20FCC%20has%20an,carriers%20can't%20stop%20them.

It would be incumbent for Ajit Pai to amend the FCC rules to prevent this kind of censorship.

iMessage sends encrypted messages so people in the middle (T-Mobile) can’t tamper with them.

It only works between iPhones however.

-1
deleted -1 points ago +1 / -2
1
DisgustedByMisleadia 1 point ago +1 / -0

No, iMessage is encrypted end-to-end, using public key encryption.

The sender encrypts the message with the recipient's public key, and the recipient decrypts it with their private key. Apple handles the exchange of public keys, but the private keys remain on the devices.

Apple cannot read the contents of the messages, and cannot reveal them to law enforcement. However, if you backup your iPhone or iMessages to iCloud, they are vulnerable to a subpoena.

The encryption protocol in iMessage and Signal are similar. From a user's point of view, the main difference is there is no out-of-band method available for contact identification in iMessage. Signal has a pair of "safety numbers" that you can exchange with a contact:

It’s not fake, you likely had iMessage turned on. Trying turning iMessage off and have someone send you a link (from another carrier). It may be working now, but when I tried it on Monday it was not working but other links were working fine. TD links were being blocked.

Test it if you don't believe it. Send just thedonald.win link to a t-mobile user. Don't know if it's the combination of iphone on t mobile.

Btw, it did wake up my friend to the scary censorship and the world we're living in. He was a former hard lib turned Trump supporter.

MaximumMAGA 46 points ago +46 / -0

I believe this is an FCC violation. You should file a formal complaint: https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/360001201223

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General.

Keep us updated.

26
Gunsareforfun 26 points ago +26 / -0

Anybody with T-Mobile needs to document this immediately before they quietly walk the censorship back, file your complaint at the link above, and if possible get a free legal consultation to see if you have a case for violation of first amendment rights.

I submitted a complaint for censoring blielivesmatter.blue. After exhausting my tries with that, the FCC sent this response

Formal complaint proceedings are like court proceedings. The filing fee for filing a formal complaint is $235.00 but is subject to change. You must comply with specific procedural rules, appear before the FCC, and file legal documents that address legal issues. Attorneys almost always represent parties filing formal complaints, and legal fees, in addition to the $235.00 filing fee, can be substantial.

I did this immediately, about 2 or 3 weeks ago, check my post history. Google Fi is doing the exact thing described in this post. They also block Breitbart links. not sure what others, but 100% on my phone it's TD.WIN and Breitbart.com

3
MaximumMAGA 3 points ago +3 / -0

Did the FCC respond?

2
deleted 2 points ago +2 / -0
1
MarcusAurelius 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's not an FCC violation, but 100% you should file a complaint.

It's because SMS messages are considered an information service. Fortunately, the chairman of the FCC serves at the pleasure of President Trump, and if he lit a fire under the ass of Ajit Pai, they could amend the rules to prevent this kind of election interference.

29
marsajane1949 29 points ago +31 / -2

Your friends phone isn't even showing it received anything or even tried too. It could be your iPhone or your service from AT&T not even sending the link and blocking you from sending on your end. What happens when you send yourself the link or have you tried to send to anyone else?

0

DisgustedByMisleadia 7 points ago +7 / -0

These are all SMS messages (the text is green).

iMessage doesn't provide any status on text message delivery when it's an SMS message. The only reason I've ever seen any kind of status is if the SMS message is rejected for some reason (i.e. not a valid number).

Message status is only shown for iMessages sent between iPhones, via Apple's servers. That's done via an IP network connection.

1
coconutnuts 1 point ago +3 / -2

This happened to me and a friend. He did have an iphone.

2
DisgustedByMisleadia 2 points ago +2 / -0

Try another .win domain. It's possibly that the entire TLD has been blacklisted.

4
Farage_massage 4 points ago +7 / -3

I’m calling BS on this until I see multiple people test and post results....

4
CmonPeopleGetReal 4 points ago +5 / -1

100% has been happening on my Google Fi phone as well, i did multiple tests between multiple friends, on multiple cariers, using multiple device types. It is 100% from Google Fi (my provider) in my case, doesn't matter if the receiving person is on iPhone, or Android, Verizon, ATT or T-mobil. They never get any texts that have thedonald.win links, or breitbart.com links. All other links i try come through no problem.

Look at my post history, i have posted here about this censorship just a couple weeks ago, who knows how long they have been doing it.

.win domains are typically associated with gambling sites, which is why they get blocked at the TLD level by some organizations. Also why they get labeled as "adult" sites.

It is unfortunate that the creators of this site used .win, but I still like the name.

ILLEGAL, IN-KIND CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS

How much would a campaign have to pay to have their opponents deplatformed? A considerable sum, I'd bet. Alternatively, what would the price be for the associated 'excess' of material supporting the other side?

This censorship is effectively a massive unreported donation.

FYI, I just tried this myself, because I wanted to see if all *.win domains were blocked. Between my iPhone and the Google Voice web client, I was able to send thedonald.win and antifa.com in both directions. There was no problem.

Did you happen to send an entire article or comment URL, or just the top level domain name? I wondered if the obfuscated comment URL like https://thedonald.win/p/HElLV2uX/x/c/16bPH1yxUr would be blocked because it looked suspicious, but I just tried that and it worked, too.

1
deleted 1 point ago +1 / -0

DisgustedByMisleadia 1 point ago +1 / -0

I was wondering if the post URL contained "fuck", and that may have been censored, but this is the URL I found:

https://thedonald.win/p/GvB1WsMP/young-patriot-leigh-guest-sings-/

However, the TITLE of the page contains it, and perhaps they are checking the contents of the web page? Some email services look at the content to determine if it links to malware.

But, I just tried it with the above URL, and it worked fine.

I'm beginning to wonder if there's some sort of anti-spam filtering kicking in. GV might not be blocking specific URLs, but if you suddenly send it to a whole bunch of people, it triggers an anti-spam measure. If so, it's probably temporary and would be withdrawn automatically after some period of time.

While it's not exactly the same, my email server and web server have rate limits on incoming connections.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME TOO!!! But I have Charter Spectum Mobile. I was sending my cousin the link and he didn't get it. He thought I was crazy and freaking out but he sent me screenshots from his phone and it was the exact same thing.

Since TMob also owns Sprint you would expect the same there.

Perhaps the amalgamation of operating systems hasn't been completed (or begun) yet. They started with combining the retail stores.

Perhaps the SMS didn't go through. Perhaps OP is lying... .Win is popular now so we need to be skeptical and thorough regarding any of these types of claims. It's been 5 hours and OP still hasn't returned to answer any questions or provide more data...

We need an army of lawyers to be able to start suing the Hell out of these evil corporations the way commie pedocrats have for decades.

The issue appears to be with T-Mobile servers flagging links that are not “.com” as spam. I have seen reports of texts also not coming through containing a link to YouTube shortened as “youtu.be” for example
