You know, Peterson actually spoke about this. He says that's a bad translation. "The meek shall inherent the Earth" is better translated as "Those who have swords and know how to use them, but keep them sheathed, shall inherent the Earth."

Miss me some Peterson. Hope he's doing okay.

A pacifist is not really a pacifist if he is unable to make a choice between violence and non-violence. A true pacifist is able to kill or maim in the blink of an eye, but at the moment of impending destruction of the enemy he chooses non-violence. He chooses peace. He must be able to make a choice. He must have the genuine ability to destroy his enemy and then choose not to. - Yukiyoshi Takamura

A long winded way of saying much the same thing as Peterson.

Latest personal update has him off benzodiazepines, and recovering life. Harrowing multi year ordeal with those drugs. His wife had no hope cancer brain surgery, so he got on benzodiazepines. (She made it, btw.) Side effects were unbearable pain, (Akathisia) but he couldn’t get off them. It’s almost impossible for some. Multiple attempts at therapy were made. Their “cure“ was different benzodiazepines. Didn’t work. Don’t take them for more than a week or risk lifelong dependency is his message. He went to Russia and was put into a medically induced coma to withdraw. He had pneumonia at the same time. Nearly died, etc. Then more therapy/convalescence. Went to Romania? He seemed a little shaky, but lucid and recovering. His daughter and her husband had to deal with him and her mom at the same time. He seems ashamed of losing it when he was needed most. He isn’t perfect after all. Knowing everything was worse than useless. He got that message loud and clear.
