I think it's more about just amassing large numbers of votes. The ideal scenario is that the Dems don't have a "muh popular vote" nonsense to gripe about. Also, many Dem states have enacted electoral vote giving schemes (unconstitutional, IMO) based on said popular vote. How hilarious would it be if the final electoral college vote was like 500-38 because of those dumb state legislatures and Governors?
