We've been filling federal courts with better judges This is true. Trump has been consistently tipping the courts back, and that's why Soros focused on the DAs. Can't prosecute if they're not indicted.

This is World War 3. Not fought with guns, but with money.

Unless it's encrypted anything on flash memory should be recoverable. Nothing every gets truly overwritten on that technology. Maybe they could try to overwrite every address 5 times but that would be painstakingly slow to do to 30+ phones. I doubt they did that. Edit: Didn't read the last part. Ok they wiped it good. I bet it took a whole team.

MrStaticElectricity 11 points ago +11 / -0

What's the point of giving them cellphones for official government work if they can just wipe them? If you think about it, the U.S. taxpayer paid for these criminals to have "burner" phones. I hardly think that's the intention when these are given out.

Solve the process. Solve the problem.

This really shouldn’t be a thing. I’m pretty sure there is MDM happening with government mobile devices. Which means there are permissions policies granted by MDM admin. Wiping from device is not usually not one granted. Defeats the purpose. However, they can be wiped remotely from MDM dashboard. Also, there should be backups stored.

1
Quietam_Unum 1 point ago +1 / -0

Losing the data is bullSchiff also. All they need is live backup to a secure server(s) -- meaning out of the feeb's control -- and s/w to lock them down if the b/u is messed with.

It ain't rocket surgery...

Mueller also was useful in removing evidence during the 9/11 investigation. That's his role. He's one of the deep state's erasers

NSA still has the texts and emails they sent.

We have been given a lot of slaps in the face these past few years.

I don't see what the problem is. Just vote for trump in November and that will fix this. That's what everyone here keeps telling me.

4
Znut55 4 points ago +4 / -0

First Hillary and now this....can't even wrap your head around the FACT that crimes and corruption by Dems and their media go unpunished which means the swamp is deep and out of control and NO ONE can do anything??? WTF???

1
FireannDireach 1 point ago +1 / -0

Mebbe. But I think most of it came from Obama. Hillary is involved, but tangentially. This is all Obamagate. His people were spying on Trump, and got caught. Mueller was brought in to fix it. I'd bet Obama or Valerie Jarrett ordered it. It wouldn't shock me that the "team' was talking to Obama's people through the whole thing.

Hillary is pure evil, and has her own legal scandals that are unresolved, but this is all Obama White House.

4
learntocode 4 points ago +4 / -0

Guys guys guys this is like the "Bee Kind Rewind" of government issued cell phones! They were just being considerate as they didn't want all the kiddie porn and foreign asset transfers to their OnlyFans accounts to get anyone in the government in trouble.

4
Thep1mp 4 points ago +4 / -0

Hmmm....if these were people appointed by Trump to investigate something and then wiped their phones....... can you imagine what the reaction in the media would be? The bias is astounding.

3
Keith 3 points ago +3 / -0

I don't know how they could, but I always assumed mueller's team that were all Obama and hillary lawyers were just their to destroy evidence of the previous admin and they weren't really investigating anything Russia related

3
Cvgnus 3 points ago +3 / -0

I don't really get why this is such a big problem. When you wipe your own phone does all your email, texts and call records go poof? The email sits on servers that are periodically backed up. Large government mail systems have farms of load balanced email servers. Destroying one or two servers or wiping it's harddrives is irrelevant. The systems are designed to have multiple servers fail and continue to function serving email. Call records and texts are logged and stored by the phone carrier. The only data you may lose is if the data was stored locally on the phone like a document. You don't need the physical phone to reconstruct the data that passed though it. Unless of course you have a team of government IT and phone carrier people in the background actively scrubbing data and destroying backup media. That's a lot of coordination between a lot of people expected to keep quiet.

deleted 2 points ago +2 / -0
2
Cvgnus 2 points ago +2 / -0

The charges you or I would face is irrelevant. You and I both know that.

If I were a Democrat and was subpoenaed and after I had an "accidental" phone wipe? There would be zero consequences, even if a Republican DA was after me.

I would quietly reconstruct the data in the background and then indict the fuckwads on that information and add willful destruction of government data and property to the charges later.

2
Mammadora [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Anyone.

1
FireannDireach 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's not the point. It's illegal for them to do it. That's all you need to know - regardless if there was nothing incriminating on the phones, they broke the law doing it. This isn't just some lifers in some Fed office who effed up. This was a special prosecutor, who knows the laws involved - and would have brought anyone in the White House up on charges if caught doing the same thing. These are government employees who operate under strict evidentiary laws. Their phones and everything on them are the property of the US Federal government. They were ordered to return the phones as part of an investigation over their activities, so it's now also destroying evidence.

It's a big fucking deal. It's not an IT issue, it's a legal issue.

Smurfection 2 points ago +2 / -0

Of course they did. They don't want us to know how biased and screwed up that entire charade was.

The FBI thinks they have a right to overturn elections and they always have. It's time for the American version of the Praetorian Guard to be dismantled.

How can anyone defend this? This was an investigation that would have employed experts in the field of computer forensics. Hell, they were digging so far up the collective asses of the Trump administrating that they could've counted their fillings. But we are to believe that the day after they just, what? Forgot about the importance of retaining information? No. Hell, no. This was deliberate and heads should roll. They won't. And that is part of the problem. Just like Hillary wasn't prosecuted. Just like every single one of these swamp monster assholes get to operate outside the law. And neocons will obstruct just as much as the Dems, because they are just as deep into the game as any of them.

I'm not an expert but from what I've been told wiping any drive doesnt get rid of the data. It just tells the os the data is available to be written over. Unless they used special software the data will still be there.

1
bugilt 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think it's time to start storing the data from their phones. I would think this is already a thing and wiping a phone is just a way of fooling the public to thinking all the evidence is gone.

1
Mark0alag0 1 point ago +1 / -0

“This is an issue with faulty technology, not a DOJ matter” - Bill Barr probably.

Okay not probably....he will. Because without arrests what the fuck else will he say? And since there will be no arrests.... then that will be what he says. So strike my “probably”. And yes, I am leaving out the obvious option: he just will make no comment at all on it. And since no reporters will ask him about it.....

1
GasStationBurrito 1 point ago +1 / -0

Keep in mind Robert Mueller was FBI Director when 9/11 happened. Believe what you want as far as what happened that day, but he had a hand in forming the official story.

1
triggernometry 1 point ago +1 / -0

If the DOJ gave a single shit about obtaining evidence un-tampered, they would have raided these fuckers in the middle of the night, like they do to Conservatives. Don't expect any justice from the current DOJ, they're all in on it.

1
RedAltoids 1 point ago +1 / -0

Why not arrest these fuckers? Not their content to erase.

1
charbatch 1 point ago +1 / -0

A quick call to the IT department and the password would be reset. This is the lamest excuse for wiping phones that they could come up with. It's less plausible than saying a shark are it.

1

Oh for fucks sake can’t we just charge them for obstruction of justice?

While waiting for non-existent justice, can bar complaints be lodged against the lawyers involved? Maybe we could get Scooter Libby to file the complaint.

1
MAGANYficent 1 point ago +1 / -0

If DOJ did not anticipate this and have a backup created of messaging as they were working. Get rid of the whole fucking bunch of DOJ execs and their entire IT staff.

At this point, just go to the NSA and ask for the full backups.

1
Data 1 point ago +1 / -0

Mueller's job, after utterly failing to find evidence of collusion or other significant crimes by the Trump campaign, was to coverup his and the Democrats' treasonous coup. You see, covering up government corruption is Mueller's specialty. It's no coincidence he was selected for the job.
