It's amazing how four guys got together because they were bored in the studio and put together a 28 minute album of the heaviest riffs in history. Also amazing that people still remember that stuff 30 years later.

I was disappointed in Lamb of God's newest album in that manner. I consider myself lucky that I generally can't make out most metal lyrics and just listen for enjoyment. The sound overall was great and there's only one or two lines that I can make out that are clearly SJW, but I chose to mindblank them when they come up.
I love Thy Art is Murder "Make America Hate Again" because I can look at the lyrics from a different perspective than they intended and still agree with it. Identitarian politics teaches Americans to hate others and themselves, so I don't tie it to MAGA like they intended, but it's still a true statement. The entire song for me is great because I look at it sideways and see it how I want rather than their anti-Trump intention, and it sounds awesome.
Most artists signed by record label are controlled. A lot of them sold their soul for fame and fortune. Yes the rumors of this all are true. Look up vigilantcitizen He has a great website exposing all of the entertainment industry. You tube series, The Industry will take you through a journey through all of this. And rounding up for third you can check out the John Todd videos. He exposed back in the day. He didn’t get long before they put him in a mental institution where he died. They probably had to sing what their handlers gave them.

Regarding Slayer, I believe only Tom and Dave are based, FYI. Dave was kicked out years ago for expecting to actually get paid for performances. He'd have to fly to gigs on his own dime and not get paid. Amazing.
I can't stop listening to Fall of Ideals. Just listened to it in full yesterday again for like the 50th time. One of the greatest albums of all time. You should check out Victim of the New Disease (ironic as it came out in 2018). It's honestly their best album in like 10 years. It's awesome and so slept on.
It was their last album with lead guitarist Oli Herbert. People also think it's heavily suspected his wife had him killed. Bitch was evil.
I can still listen to it purely on the basis of familiarity/nostalgia, but my tastes in music have completely changed since then. I would certainly say Fall of Ideals remains my favorite in the genre, but I also find myself unable to get into anything new within that genre. I will certainly give Victim of a New Disease a shot, but I can't promise I'll like what I hear. Although I loved it for a decent amount of time, "Hard and fast" has largely lost it's appeal to me over the years after branching out and discovering other elements of music I personally enjoy more.
