This will be year six for me. I stopped right before the kneeling because it was a crap product. The kneeling only confirmed my decision to stop watching.
You're doing the right thing. Still have to enjoy life and make memories. I'm all for for boycotts, but I think we need to figure out an alternative to boycotts. If are being honest it's tough to boycott every liberal entity and live a somewhat normal existence in 2020. Think of everything you couldn't use, work or personal, if you boycotted everything liberal for good.
Facebook
Instagram
Youtube
Windows
Apple computers
Apple phones
Android phones
Amazon
Watch pretty much any kind of television (sports, movies, cable shows)
Netflix
Go to Disney, watch Disney and everything they freakin own
Go to college
Now use the damn post office
List goes one
...let's face it, they are the establishment, the machine, and we are the counter culture these days. That being said, I'm still not going to watch the NFL today, they are going above and beyond the normal BS. Point is, vote with your dollar, but don't forget to try to enjoy life along the way.
You have to pick which ones are easy to boycott. Unless you're content with a basic flip phone, you're going to have to have an Android or Apple phone.
On the other hand it's easy to NOT go to Disney or buy any of their overpriced crap. It's easy to NOT subscribe to Netflix or Hulu. It's easy NOT to buy Gillette or Goodyear products. It's easy to NOT eat at Chick-Fil-A or other cucked restaurants. It's easy to NOT watch the NFL, NBA or MLB.
Yes, you can enjoy life and make memories, but what enjoyment is there in handing over time and money to people who spit in your face? Is a great memory one that says, "I remember opening day 2020 when [enter league/team here] told me I was a racist piece of shit and supported an actual racist, domestic terror group instead?"
I don't know your situation, but I know if you have family, kids, nieces, nephews, it's pretty dang hard to avoid the monster that Disney is, they own Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars. Maybe you're just a better person than I am but if they ask me to go see Nemo, I'm going to go take them to see Nemo. I'm not saying to ignore and give up. I avoid Starbucks and the mentioned products as much as possible.
When I was a kid, my dad took me to see the movies HE wanted to see. I remember him taking me to see horror, sci-fi and action movies. Our home video collection was filled with the likes of Alien, The Fog, Blood Beach, Scanners, The Howling, James Bond movies, Dirty Harry films, Jaws and Jaws II, Creepshow, The Thing, Escape From New York, just to name a few. (Yeah, a lot of John Carpenter in there.) My grandparents did the same, though usually a different genre of films. If someone wanted to take me to a cartoon or "kids movie" I saw it as a punishment.
I watched A Clockwork Orange and The Shining for the first time when I was about 10 years old. I wasn't allowed to watch anything with Jane Fonda or Vanessa Redgrave.
I personally think more parents should do this with their kids (maybe not A Clockwork Orange), but I don't tell people how to raise them. I'm not a Leftist. If they did however, maybe we'd have fewer 27 year-olds running around acting like children. It would also probably save them a ton of money, too. I didn't own or want any Disney crap or any of the popular fads. Neither did my brother. We watched cool movies and played a lot of sports.
That said, if your kids want to watch Finding Nemo, that's fine. Like I said, I'm not TELLING anyone how to raise their kids. There's no reason you have to spend a ton of money on a crap vacation to Disney. Something else we never wanted to do. Also no reason to keep giving the Leftists at Netflix and Hulu your hard-earned money.
I understand what you are saying. I don't disagree with it. Just offering different perspectives. I boycott what I can. I don't watch the NFL anymore, and to be honest it sucks. I miss the days of watching football with family and friends and everyone enjoying it. I still maintain that we need different alternatives to just boycotting because I don't think it's going to put Disney, Google, Amazon, or Apple out anytime soon. Anyway, that's a different discussion and it's late where I'm from. Goodnight fellow Pede.
Yup I've tried to make this point before. Plus, you already pay for the cable which includes the sport channels, so they're getting some of your money anyway. Not to excuse watching, cause less viewers will hurt their advertising.
I still avoid as much as I can. If I can find alternatives I do. But, I know I'd have a hard time being happy or functioning in my life if I avoided everything. Just need to find additional ways to fight other than straight up boycotts.
I'm stuck in my house due to work this weekend. But I only watched 2 minutes of the Panthers game, and then turned that shit off. My teams suck bad this year, so I won't even have an urge to watch it.
So many other things to watch. Or read a book. Or listen to Old Time Radio or music or play a video game (plenty of free versions of all of those on Archive.org)
Like there's nothing else to do but watch a bunch of mostly overpaid spoiled perverted leftists make a ruckus over a pigskin? I used to watch sports and was good at them as a youth. Played semi pro baseball. Hit 45 and realized I was fat and out of shape.
Decided to take the time I spent watching sports to exercise instead. Started lifting weghts, running, biking, swimming, playing basketball with kids 35 - 40 years younger now (til Covid) since then. I deadlifted twice my body weight at 60 years old and can still touch a 10 foot rim at just over 6 feet tall and was able to dunk for first time since I was 25 at age 55. And I ain't even black. :) Choice is yours. Was running a 7 minute mile just a 4 years ago.
Got lazy and depressed so lost motivation for the last several months, but back into doing cross fit at 61 years old and determined to get back to where I was a year ago.
Good luck to you on getting back in shape. Fall is a great time to do it, especially when you’re not wasting your Saturdays and Sundays watching football. I’ve gotten a hell of a lot more done on Sundays since the kneeling started four years ago. Their loss, our gain.
Makes sense to me. You can still be interested in watching a talented athlete play a sport you enjoy without supporting the overall league and its anti-American agenda.
right on . NFL- WHO? NBA WHO ? COLLAPSES BOTH AND MOVE ON IN LIFE! send them all to china as a gift from the Other races in this Country. let china deal with BLM.. let see how far they give in china with this bULL SHIT or better yet send them to RUSSIA.
Besides the main reason I’m not watching, social justice preaching ....... the jo/ho ticket is spending hugely on sports advertising $26m, that’s a lot of propaganda to sit through.
Done, been done. I enjoyed hearing that the Chiefs and Texans seemed to be trying to walk back some of the SJW bullshit, not kneeling, etc....but it's too late. I kept watching through last year, because the league itself resisted the SJW bullying. Now that they're jumped on board, I'm done.
September and October and two of the nicest months of the year, for most of the United States. Don't spend your precious weekend days inside watching these pudding brained derelicts smash in to each other. Go outside.
Until we get authentic Roman bread and circus (gladiators killing each other), I have no interest in watching millionaires kick the football out of the back of the end zone.
I hereby refuse to ever be around anything associated with the NFL. I will never watch a game. I will never buy a jersey. I will not visit an establishment with an NFL game playing on a tv or radio.
Football is a game for kids; the NFL aborted itself.
It's not easy for me but I've asked my girlfriend to help. Gonna try and get away from the house and any televisions. It'd be easier if my team wasn't the late game.
My phone gave me a notification of the damn scores. Had to disable that shit because I don't care anymore. My team doesn't exist anymore anyway. I was a Redskins fan. Still am I suppose back when they was Redskins.
Was a long time Bears fan (so excited for their 2006 Super Bowl appearance) and I justified watching several of their games a year up through last season because they didn't have kneeling players (that I saw). Was also a huge NBA fan. But this year I finally decided to completely unfriend those orginazations and had it not been for these posts on thedonald and another forum I go to I'd have had no idea games were back on.
My boycott started happening when Kroenke badmouthed St. Louis while he and the league moved the Rams to LA. St Louis may have the last laugh though because we still have the Rams' only championship, Kroenke's new stadium is the definition of cost overrun, and we have active lawsuits against him, the team, & the league. They want it to go to arbitration, every court has said no, the supreme court doesn't want to deal with it, & the state court said that any trial to take place will take place right in St. Louis. I hope we take them to the cleaners.
It's funny to me to see multimillionaire black people saying how bad the US but don't realize that their creating a void in their own platforms, a void of attention that gets filled quickly by say people spending more time on thedonald.win. Once that's done people won't go back and the future black people that they claim to protect will never get the kind of contracts that they did. Imagine a water polo player signing a $50 million contract.
I never found football exciting. It's just a bunch of people running back on forth on a field with a ball. Not my type of entertaining sport. However, I can separate the art from the artist so if I did like football I would still watch it regardless of who the players, owners, etc ... voted for.
Cancel culture exists in all spectrums of the political playing fields and I refuse to take part in it regardless of what I'm told I should or should not do by other people who have no damned business in telling me jack shit.
If they stop supporting Marxist terrorist organizations then maybe I'll come back, but even then I don't think I'll be able to watch because they've already shown their true colors.
There are a lot of people on here who think 'sportsball is stupid' who maybe don't understand that some of us have enjoyed sports for years and don't want to let the libtards destroy it. And some of us also have kids that are playing sports.
Boycotting the NFL is a bigger ask for these folks. I'm doing it, and I think we're making a difference, but the people who have another hobby and wouldn't consider watching sports on TV anyway need to get out of my face. It's easy to boycott something you don't use.
My boycott didn't start today
Indeed. My boycott started a few years ago when the kneeling happened.
My boycott is PERMANENT
I just upvoted you.
I just upvoted you, and it is also permanent.
This will be year six for me. I stopped right before the kneeling because it was a crap product. The kneeling only confirmed my decision to stop watching.
I used to boycott the NFL.
I still do, but I used to, too.
Lol
I think mine started in 2010
mine started after leaving high school and no longer playing the game myself.
I thought I was the only one. I stopped watching in the 90's after I didn't play high school ball anymore. I have better things to do with my Sundays.
My Granma with dementia asked to watch the Packers today.
Hopefully I'll be forgiven this year. We haven't watched it in our house for three seasons.
I'm gunna miss her. She doesn't understand, but man. She lit up when she heard GB was on today. She wants Rogers, she gets Rogers.
Yikes, to the two assholes downvoting this.... eat a bag of dicks.
Haha.
You're probably right. They knelt though. We're going to BBQ and play card games instead.
Ha, nice screenname.

That's understandable
NFL sponsors BLM assassin’s
who cares.
If you're here and still watching NFL, may I ask why?
I'm stuck in my house due to work this weekend. But I only watched 2 minutes of the Panthers game, and then turned that shit off. My teams suck bad this year, so I won't even have an urge to watch it.
So many other things to watch. Or read a book. Or listen to Old Time Radio or music or play a video game (plenty of free versions of all of those on Archive.org)
Fair question.
Because I have a life outside of this board.
Tom Brady, I want to see what he bring to the field. Other than that, I'll find enjoyment elsewhere.
Like there's nothing else to do but watch a bunch of mostly overpaid spoiled perverted leftists make a ruckus over a pigskin? I used to watch sports and was good at them as a youth. Played semi pro baseball. Hit 45 and realized I was fat and out of shape.

I respect it.
Glad to see your view of the forest isn't obscured by the Trees. I'll tune in 5 minutes after kick off to watch the GAME.
The NFL support terrorists. I think that's the forest we are in, am I right?
It's too bad they shitted Tom Brady's platform. He is an incredible athlete.
NFL = BLM / Antifa
BOYCOTT THESE OVER PAID jerks.
The number of upvotes on this post is too damn low!
NF who ?
right on . NFL- WHO? NBA WHO ? COLLAPSES BOTH AND MOVE ON IN LIFE! send them all to china as a gift from the Other races in this Country. let china deal with BLM.. let see how far they give in china with this bULL SHIT or better yet send them to RUSSIA.

I don't watch I quit watching last year when is kneeling crap started
SO DID MY FAMILY. WHO WANTS TO WATCH a bunch of over paid cry babies take a knee. is this the neW sex position for them or what?
Started Thursday...
Never have , never will . Football has always been for retards.
Getting the garlic bed ready and pulling frames of honey out of the hives. No time for nfl
dude, can i come over?
It's not easy for me but I've asked my girlfriend to help. Gonna try and get away from the house and any televisions. It'd be easier if my team wasn't the late game.
I bet you'll find many things you enjoy more and they'll be better for both of you.
My phone gave me a notification of the damn scores. Had to disable that shit because I don't care anymore. My team doesn't exist anymore anyway. I was a Redskins fan. Still am I suppose back when they was Redskins.
Never been a pro sports fan anyway.
If you watch, you are funding the violent overthrow of the USA.
Enjoy your game, Commies.
Was a long time Bears fan (so excited for their 2006 Super Bowl appearance) and I justified watching several of their games a year up through last season because they didn't have kneeling players (that I saw). Also may I add, FUCK KROENKE!!
Streaming it illegally. Will never pay another dime to these ass clowns to who get paid millions to bitch and moan.
+2
Reading The Donald is soooo much better than watching marxists on tv.
The only sports organization we watch in this household is the UFC! No more cuck shit!!! KAG 2020 BABY

Literally forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me. I'll claim I did it on purpose.

woke NFL, if I wanted to see millionaires jerk each other off I would have went to Epstiens island.
I hope they enjoy those empty stadiums.....oh wait, they were mostly empty anyway.
Fuck em.
If they stop supporting Marxist terrorist organizations then maybe I'll come back, but even then I don't think I'll be able to watch because they've already shown their true colors.
I have never watched it. Does that count?
The boycott is easy for me. I started to lose interest a while ago and couldn’t sit through a full game, so now I just ignore it altogether
Looks like my two favorite teams did terrible today,so I feel a lot better today than I normally would watching that garbage!
There are a lot of people on here who think 'sportsball is stupid' who maybe don't understand that some of us have enjoyed sports for years and don't want to let the libtards destroy it. And some of us also have kids that are playing sports.

If you must watch, there's plenty of streaming websites you can use to avoid giving them your money.
Cards on the table.
Tonight, I'll watch my Team. That is it! . . . and I'll tune in 5 minutes after kick off.
If I do watch I'll do it on an illegal stream
