For those that don't know, the PPQ is one of the most welcoming handguns available. Feels comfortable in the hand, has a nice easy trigger, and looks cool. Plus, Walther is the company that's makes the original guns used by James Bond, so hard not to love the heritage.
Highly recommend testing this one out for you gun newbs.
If you’re talking about the first pull: the first pull is long, with a pretty clearly felt wall, and then a clean break. Short reset to the wall for follow up shots.
The PPQ is an evolution of the P99QA with the styling of the P99RAD (which was never imported into the US). PPQ has a partially cocked striker action like a Glock where the standard “anti stress” P99 is more akin to a traditional double/single action pistol. A Gen 1 P99 9mm was James Bond’s weapon of choice from Tomorrow Never Dies through Casino Royale. There is also the Smith and Wesson SW99, which is a P99 built by S&W with slight cosmetic differences. It was somewhat popular with police departments in the early 2000s and was available in .45ACP which the P99 has never been offered in.
You are correct. PPQ is available in .45. P99, however, is not. So if you wanted the traditional DA/SA setup in .45 in a P99 type platform the SW99 is the only option.
Nice 👍🏼 I used to have a PPQ 45, it was a great gun I just traded it in eventually. I still have the PPS M2 as my EDC most days. Hard to beat some good ole German engineering!
I gots my Walther PPQ M2 SC law enforcement edition in 9mm. Love it. 3.5" barrel. Comes with night sights. Has a flush 10 round mag for extra concealment, or you can go with the 15 round extended mag. Great gun.
I've had mine for about 6 months now and probably dumped a good 3 or 4 thousand rounds through it and...
AMAZING simply Amazing. Walther is maybe the best kept open secret in the gun world. I use my buddy's Springfield, S&W or Glock and they feel like toys in comparison.
Idk if they're in stock anymore, but I found that swapping out the plastic factory guide rod with a tungsten guide rod (like 4 times heavier) helped my grouping and follow up shots, because with that beauty of a trigger you gotta do some rapid fire sometimes (safety officers at my range are pretty cool lol), noticeably less muzzle rise.
I got one of those in March after people started looting stores around me. My first handgun ever! Mine has a threaded barrel though. So I can someday get a silencer for it.
I have a walther pps 9mm. Slimmer so it's my ccw but only 7 rounds. It's a bit older too so it has a mag release paddle integrated into the trigger guard. Not a bad idea in theory but it tends to foul easily so it requires cleaning every time you fire the pistol. They've gone away from that back to a standard release so I guess it wasn't popular.
I have one of those! Love it.
Me as well. My first 9mm
We have the .22 as well. Same form factor, cheaper to shoot!
The P22 is my favorite .22 plinker I have.
Yes sir same here. My first gun.

I love my PPQ I have two (the SC version also).
PPQ M2 Master Race checking in! Criminally underrated handgun, and the best stock trigger in the biz. 🥰🥰🥰
No kidding, that trigger is the best!
How do they handle compared to the P99?
I haven't shot P99 but the PPQ handles like a dream. The trigger is absolutely amazing for a factory one.
Just when I thought I didn't have any more gotta-haves!
Now I gotta go try! Will report back when and if I find one...
The trigger reset is also fantastic.
Another plus!

Make sure turn the sound on.
Cool! The only P99 I've shot had this awful police 'safety' trigger with a two mile mushy pull. I've only heard good things about the PPQ trigger.

FYI PPQ is now available in .45acp. Got my eye on it.

That is a beautiful pistol
Always wanted a PPK... anything walther is classy AF!!!! <3 MAGA2020
If I buy another handgun (and by all logic that stands on this earth I will), it will be a Walther PPQ.
That is a thing of beauty.
Thank you for posting.
Do you take it to the shooting range often?
Pretty often, and every thursday I go to a nearby range to shoot USPSA courses with it in the Limited division.
God bless you and your family.
Nice! Love mine but might be selling it soon...so I can get a Q4 tac. PPQs are great! Carry the PPQ subcompact as well.
M FAMILY IS LOADED UP BRING IT ON!

This is both my ccw and going to war sidearm!
we have four just like this and two tasers and 5 shot guns. we don't ant to miss any of these thuds.
OMFG 2 Walthers now on Sunday Gunday. Mind. Blown.
I got one of those in March after people started looting stores around me. My first handgun ever! Mine has a threaded barrel though. So I can someday get a silencer for it.
P99 going on 12 years and over 1000 rounds.
I have the same model. Thousands of rounds, and never a glitch. Accurate, too.
It seems like the PPQ is a popular platform on the_donald. We are men of culture, clearly.
Beats r/guns which is mostly stock Glocks and PSA ARs.
I carry a PPS... love these, very accurate and easy to shoot.
Hello there, fellow Walther lover! :D
Awesome weapon
This is third on my Christmas list for 9mm. Love those guns.
Have it in .45. It’s my home defense weapon. That and my Benelli Nova 12-gauge pump.

I hear Walthers are a bitch to take apart and clean compared to other brands. Don't know if there's any truth to that.
No, the PPQ is very easy to maintain and clean.
PPQ is standard striker fired takedown procedure, really simple, no more complex than a Glock.

Doesn't get any easier than this, really.
Definitely easy.
It depends on the model. Some are specifically designed to be easy to take apart and clean. Others are not.
