Serious question, I genuinely want some insight. The gay community has been the scapegoat for many of societies ills. Today the gay community is predominantly normalized within the western culture and your average straight person understands gay people are not the root of societal evil.

Because this is a recent phenomenon I would think the the gay community would recognize that Trump and Trump supporters are being scapegoated. It seems plain to me. For example a typical trope with the leftists is "Trump or Trump Supporters make POC/Gay/Trans uncomfortable, because of his/their racism/phobia" the logical conclusion that if we get rid of Trump or Trump Supporters the discomfort will go away. This is similar to things I heard in my youth about gay people. "If they would just go away/be quiet/stay in the closet et...things would be ok."

So here is my question is there a logical or emotional block that stop many in the gay community from seeing the correlation? If so, is there a useful countermeasure to clear the block? Long read I know, but thanks for reading and any feedback.

As a gay guy and Yuuuuuuge Trump supporter since ‘15, I can tell you within “the community” there is rampant brainwashing. The biggest folks that have trouble seeing a different viewpoint are those that have a life that revolves only around their sexual identity. They can’t let go of their nonsensical political views without being shunned by their friends and taking a hammer to their own identity, so they don’t and shame others for trying.
