I do believe that there are a lot of protesters who are legitimately protesting for what they honestly believe in. Then there are groups of people who are the children of wealthy mostly White young people who view these protests/riots as a Westworld live experience where they get to dress up and play anarchist and destroy other people's businesses and ruin lives for fun because they're bored. At the end of the day they can take off their costumes and go back to their privileged lives and their wealthy neighborhoods or gated communities and not live with the consequences of their destruction. They'll look back and say oh that was a fun time where I got to run around and burn things down and scream at the top of my lungs. I got a lot of social media pics and videos and i got a lot of likes for my posts. They don't even think about the people who have to live in the cities that they burn down or the business owners whose family businesses are ruined.
I've had, on more than one occasion, a conversation with a young female leftist millenial, college educated who responded to criticisms of Marxism and the death it's ideologues caused with:
"Some people have to die".

BLM was mobilized to riot to prevent us from protesting lock downs.

It was knee jerk too. No thought into it.
